Overview

The Production Artist plays a vital role in ensuring that creative designs are executed with precision for final production. They bridge the gap between design and delivery, handling the technical and mechanical aspects of preparing artwork for print, digital platforms, and multimedia campaigns. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in design software, and a thorough understanding of production processes.

Core Responsibilities

  • File Preparation:
    • Prepare and finalize artwork files for print, web, and digital advertising campaigns.
    • Ensure designs meet production specifications (e.g., bleed, color profiles, resolution).
  • Quality Control:
    • Check layouts, designs, and assets for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
    • Identify and resolve any technical issues with files before production.
  • Design Adaptation:
    • Adapt master creative designs to various sizes and formats while maintaining the integrity of the original concept.
    • Localize designs for different regions or audiences if needed.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with graphic designers, art directors, and project managers to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.
    • Liaise with external vendors, such as printers or developers, to ensure quality standards.
  • Asset Management:
    • Organize and archive final design files for easy access and future reference.
    • Maintain an up-to-date library of templates and brand assets.


Role Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an advertising agency.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of file formats, printing processes, and digital specifications.
  • Strong eye for detail to catch inconsistencies or errors in design work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of addressing technical challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Experience with Google Slides and PowerPoint formatting and design.
  • Trained and experienced in photo retouching.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Workamajig) is a plus.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
